Regional ecology

Environmental problems of the southern region

The register of regional environmental problems of the South Kazakhstan region lists 16 problems, including air pollution in cities and other settlements, pollution from unauthorised municipal waste dumps, and pollution of water bodies.

Human activity, including illegal and uncontrolled harvesting, is sharply reducing the volume of liquorice root. These are the questions the university studies and brings to discussion together with scientists and partners.
